The treecreeper found in Mongolia is the Common or Eurasian Treecreeper (Certhia familiaris).

Mongolia

Under the original ornithological names this species was known as Цармын бялзуухай tsarmiŋ byalzuukhai, which means 'mountain-hollow finch'. In order to ensure that the genus Certhia has a unique base name, distinct from that of the Fringillidae, the 2007 "binomial" names gave it the new base name of Бялзуумар byalzuumar, which was originally used for the sand larks.

Inner Mongolia

The Inner Mongolian ornithological name for the Treecreeper is Тойруул шувуухай toiruul shuvuukhai 'circling birdlet'.

The term Шувуухай shuvuukhai here refers to a small bird. Шувуухай shuvuukhai is an old term used to refer to a number of generally exotic small species, including the sunbirds (Nectariniidae), the broadbills (Eurylaimidae), and the bee-eaters (Meropidae), as well as the Wren and the Treecreeper. In the traditional script there are two alternative spellings: sibaoqai and sibagoqai.
