The Vireonidae are a New World family with two genera in Asia: Pteruthius and Erpornis. Both are named Burung Rimba 'jungle bird' in Malay, an ornithological name used for all members of the old Timaliidae assemblage to which they were previously assigned. One source (24) uses Burung Yuhina for the Erpornis.
Indonesian names
1. The Pteruthius shrike babblers are known as Burung Ciut in ornithological Indonesian.
2. The Epornis (Epornis zantholeuca) is known as Burung Yuhina, a name which reflects the earlier treatment of the Epornis as one of the yuhinas (Zosteropidae).
