The plovers and lapwings are known as 鴴 in Chinese.
On the Mainland, the lapwings (genus Vanellus) are given the name 麥雞 or 'grain fowl', although this term does not appear in most ordinary dictionaries.
There are a couple of charadriids where Mainland usage is at odds with Taiwanese usage.
The term 環頸鴴 refers to the Common Ringed Plover (Charadrius hiaticula) in Taiwan and the Kentish Plover (Charadrius alexandrinus) on the Mainland.
The term 劍鴴 refers to the Long-billed Plover (Charadrius placidus) in Taiwan and the Common Ringed Plover (Charadrius hiaticula) on the Mainland.
